FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask before they move their savings into a FORTCORE vault. If something isn't covered, ask us from your account.
The basics
What is FORTCORE?
FORTCORE is a non-custodial crypto savings vault. It sits beside your everyday wallet: your long-term holdings live in a separate vault where a withdrawal made with one key waits 48 hours, you are alerted straight away, and two of your three keys can cancel it.
Does FORTCORE hold my crypto?
No. Your savings sit in a vault that only your keys control. FORTCORE watches it and sends alerts, but it has no ability to move, freeze or spend anything.
What does it cost?
FORTCORE is free to use. You only pay the network fees for creating your vault and for moving funds, the same as with any wallet.
How do I get started?
Create your account with your email and a 6-digit code, link the wallet you use every day, choose your three keys to create the vault, then switch on protection by approving with two keys, adding two alert channels and running a practice withdrawal and cancel. It takes a few minutes.
Why do I sign in with my email?
Your email is your FORTCORE account. You sign in with a one-time code, with no password to remember or leak, and manage every wallet you link in one place. Your email never gives anyone access to your funds; only your keys can move them.
How your savings are protected
What if someone steals my everyday wallet?
Anything they try to withdraw has to wait. You get an alert straight away, and two of your other keys can cancel the request before it completes.
What can a thief do with just one of my keys?
Only ask. A withdrawal started with a single key waits 48 hours by default (you can choose 24 to 72 hours). Your backup and recovery keys cannot do anything on their own either, so stealing one of them is not enough.
Can I still get my money out quickly?
Yes. Approve with any two of your keys and a withdrawal goes through right away. The 48-hour wait only applies when a single key acts alone.
What if I lose one of my keys?
Your two remaining keys can replace it. Your savings stay in the vault the whole time.
What if two of my keys are compromised?
Two keys together have full control, the same as you do, which is why your keys should be genuinely independent: different devices, kept in different places. The 48-hour wait protects you from a single stolen key, not from losing control of two.
How will I be alerted?
By email, Telegram or a signed webhook for your own tools. Setup asks for two verified channels, so one compromised account can't hide an alert from you. Withdrawal requests, changes to your keys or settings and two-key transactions are all reported to your channels.
Trust and independence
Does FORTCORE ever ask for my seed phrase or private keys?
Never. FORTCORE does not see, store or ask for your seed phrase or private keys, and nobody from FORTCORE will ever ask you for them. Your wallet signs everything; FORTCORE only coordinates and watches.
What technology is the vault built on?
FORTCORE deploys no custom smart contracts. Your vault is a standard Safe smart account with the Zodiac Delay module, both open-source and widely used. That keeps the part that holds your funds small, public and well understood.
What happens if FORTCORE shuts down?
Your vault keeps working. It belongs to you, not to us, and your exit kit explains how to reach it with standard, freely available tools.
What is the exit kit?
A document generated in your browser with your vault's addresses, owners and roles, delay settings and contract versions, plus step-by-step instructions to send, cancel, recover or remove the delay using Safe{Wallet} or a block explorer, without FORTCORE.
Wallets and networks
Which networks and wallets can I use?
Vaults are available on Sepolia (test network). Connect any browser or hardware wallet you already use; you don't need to change anything about your everyday setup.
Can a smart-contract wallet or an exchange account be one of my keys?
Vault keys must be regular wallet addresses controlled by a private key, such as MetaMask, Rabby, Ledger or Trezor. Smart-contract wallets are refused, and an exchange account can't be a key because you don't hold its keys. You can still fund your vault by sending crypto from an exchange to it.
Keep your savings where one key isn't enough.
Free to use. Setup takes a few minutes with the wallets you already have.
Non-custodial. We never hold your keys or funds.
