Scam screening

Every vault makes every other vault safer.

A wait on a new address only helps if someone notices the scam during it. Fortcore checks every withdrawal before you sign, and with Protect keeps checking until it goes.

Before you sign, on every plan

When you enter an address, the app warns you if it looks like one you've used, if it's brand new, if it's a contract, or if it's on the wrong network. It also checks public sanctions and scam lists and Fortcore's threat network. On Free these are warnings: nothing is cancelled for you.

The threat network

  • When you confirm that a cancelled or warned transfer was a scam, or report one, its address is put forward.
  • It's listed only once a second, independent report or a known feed backs it up. Reports from new or empty vaults count for little.
  • An exchange's deposit address is listed only after a person reviews it.
  • A listing reaches every vault: as a warning on every plan, and as an automatic cancellation with Protect.
  • Only addresses and the type of evidence are kept, never anything about who reported them. Every listing can be appealed.

During the wait, with Protect

Waiting withdrawals are screened when you make them and every hour after, against the threat network, a professional blockchain-analysis feed and consumer scam feeds. Your known addresses are checked again every day.

If it's a false alarm

You can sign a cancelled withdrawal again after confirming, with your face, that you've read the warning. That confirmation holds for the address until new evidence about it appears.

What screening can't do

  • Stop a transfer to an address nobody has reported yet. The wait gives you, your contact and Fortcore time to notice.
  • Delay small amounts to an address you've paid before, within your daily amount: those go at once.
  • Move money, lock your vault, or touch your keys, homes or returns. The interceptor can cancel 4 times in 30 days, and nothing more.
  • Act without its feeds. If one is down, screening falls back to alerts and says so.

Every action screening takes is labelled in your app. Compare the plans.

Questions

Do I need Protect to get warnings?

No. Warnings before you sign, from checks on your phone, public lists and the threat network, are on every plan. Protect adds screening during the wait and cancels known scams for you.

Can screening move my money?

No. The interceptor can cancel a transfer to a flagged address, up to 4 times in 30 days, and mark a tainted deposit. It can't move money, lock your vault or change anything else.

Keep your savings where a website can't reach them.

Free to start. About three minutes on your phone, plus your exchange's confirmation.
