Tainted deposits

Dirty money can reach anyone. It stops with you.

Money from a hack, a drainer, a mixer or a sanctioned address can land in any wallet, sometimes on purpose, so that your exchange freezes you when you pass it on. Nobody can stop it arriving. Fortcore keeps it from going further without your choice.

Keep your address quiet

Fortcore never publishes your vault's address or gives it a public name. Don't post it either: an address nobody knows is an address nobody targets.

How deposits are checked

Deposit checks on each plan
CheckFreeProtect and Private
Public sanctions, scam and hack listsA warning in the appAn alert on every channel
A professional blockchain-analysis feedNoEvery deposit
An on-chain markNoAbove $100 from a sanctioned or severe source
Dust and unknown tokensHiddenHidden

Smaller amounts, sanctioned dust included, are logged and hidden, never marked, so a stream of tiny deposits can't set off alarms or use anything up.

What a mark does

  • It sets aside the amount of one specific deposit, and moves nothing.
  • Marked money never leaves at once and is never used for an ordinary withdrawal.
  • A return home never pays marked money to an exchange. It goes to your second home if that is a wallet of your own, or stays in the vault.
  • Only the interceptor can mark, only within a few hours of the deposit arriving, and only from a budget kept apart from the one that cancels scams.

Your four choices

There is no "send it back", because returning it can be exactly what the sender wants. Instead, you pick one:

  1. 1Keep it isolated in your vault.
  2. 2Send it to a wallet of your own, as a waiting withdrawal.
  3. 3Send it to a hacked project's official recovery address, as a waiting withdrawal, checked against the project's published notice.
  4. 4Move the rest of your savings to a new vault, with ordinary withdrawals and their waits.

An evidence report for your exchange

One tap makes a report your exchange's compliance team can check on-chain: the deposit, why its sender was flagged, the block in which it was marked, and proof that the marked amount hasn't moved since.

Clearing a mark

With Protect, a person reviews a mark you think is wrong and can clear it. On any plan you can clear one yourself: Face ID, a statement that you accept the risk, and a 7-day wait that any of your phones can cancel. So the most a compromised interceptor could do is hold one deposit's worth for 7 days.

Where the law decides

Where the law requires something else for money from a sanctioned address, such as freezing or reporting it, the law comes before your choices. We can't stop anyone sending money, and we can't promise how your exchange will treat it. We can alert you, keep it apart and help you show where it came from. Depositing safely.

Questions

Can Fortcore stop tainted money reaching my vault?

No. Anyone can send anything to any address. Fortcore warns you, and with Protect marks it and keeps it from your exchange unless you choose otherwise.

Does moving to a new vault solve it?

It keeps the rest of your savings apart from the marked money, but a new vault is still one hop from the old one.

Keep your savings where a website can't reach them.

Free to start. About three minutes on your phone, plus your exchange's confirmation.

Open your savings

Fortcore signs none of your transfers.
