Deposits

Deposits are checked before they're sent.

Most mistakes at deposit time come from a wrong or swapped address. Fortcore is built so you never have to trust an address someone sent you.

From an exchange

Where your exchange supports it, the app opens a deposit with your vault's address and the Base network already filled in: Coinbase, Kraken and Binance first, then regional exchanges. Save your vault in the exchange's address book too. Most exchanges hold a new entry for a day or two and ask for two-factor confirmation, which protects you as well.

From a wallet

The app prepares a plain transfer through WalletConnect or a payment link, for wallets such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rabby, Rainbow, Trust and Phantom. Before your wallet asks you to confirm, the app checks your vault's address on-chain and shows its visual mark. Fortcore only ever asks for a plain transfer, never an approval, a permit or a message signature.

Afterwards, the app suggests revoking risky approvals in the wallet you sent from, with an outside tool.

By hand

  • A copy button and a QR code, with the address shown in groups beside its visual mark.
  • After you paste it, check the first and last four characters: malware can swap what you copied.
  • Start with a test deposit; the app detects it within seconds.
  • Only Base is shown, with a guide for each exchange.

Against address swaps

  • Fortcore never sends you an address by email, SMS or chat.
  • Your vault's address never changes, so any "new address" message is a scam.
  • Your setup email carries the visual mark, never the address, so you can compare them.
  • If a deposit you announced hasn't arrived within minutes, you are alerted.

Your first deposit

Until your home is confirmed, deposits are limited to $1,000. Your vault then sends $5 to your exchange; confirm it arrived, and the limit lifts. How home works.

If someone sends you tainted money

Anyone can send anything to any address, including money from a hack or a sanctioned address, sometimes so that your exchange freezes you when you pass it on. The app warns you when a deposit comes from an address on a public sanctions or scam list. With Protect, every deposit is also screened, flagged money is marked within minutes, and marked money never leaves at once or goes to an exchange without your choice.

You choose what happens to it: keep it isolated, send it to a wallet of your own or to a hacked project's official recovery address after a wait, or move the rest of your savings to a new vault. One tap makes an evidence report your exchange can check on-chain. We can't stop anyone sending it, and where the law requires something else for sanctioned funds, the law applies.

Questions

Which networks can I deposit on?

Only Base. Money on another network comes through your exchange or a well-known bridge; there is no bridge inside the app.

Can I deposit other tokens?

Any Base token is accepted, but only ETH, USDC and cbBTC can leave at once. Other tokens always wait, and go home only to an address that accepts them.

Keep your savings where a website can't reach them.

Free to start. About three minutes on your phone, plus your exchange's confirmation.
