Three ways out
| Tool | Key | Wait | What it needs |
|---|---|---|---|
| In the app | Your phone key: close to my exchange | 72 hours | Public network endpoints; no Fortcore server |
| On the web | Your cloud passkey: send everything home | 7 days | The restore domain, held by an independent trustee |
| Command line | Either | As above | Nothing else: it exports the exact transaction so anyone can submit it |
Finding your vault on a new device
Your cloud passkey carries a pointer to your vault, with no name or contact details. The web exit kit first asks for a passkey check that can authorise nothing, reads your vault on-chain and shows exactly what will happen. Only then does it ask you to confirm. A Recovery Pack of public vault details is also saved to your cloud drive; it can't sign anything, and your vault's live state always wins over it.
If Fortcore shuts down
We announce it publicly at least 30 days ahead. Then an independent operator starts every vault's 90-day return to its verified home; a faster return of your own can replace it. A wind-down covers every vault at once and can't be aimed at one customer. A funded reserve pays for the operator, ten years of the restore domain and the hosting of the exit kit.
What it doesn't do
It doesn't run your vault or send money anywhere but your homes. It sends everything home, including tokens, by the same rules as every other return.
Questions
Do I need the exit kit to leave Fortcore?
No. In the app, close to my exchange sends everything home in 72 hours. The exit kit is for when the app or Fortcore isn't there.
